I had bought some strawberries a while back and decided to freeze them because for one reason or another we weren't going to eat them all fresh. Same with a bag of spinach. My son loves yogurt so I decided tonight to make him a treat with the frozen strawberries and spinach adding plain yogurt, pureed dry brown rice (to thicken) and light agave nectar (to sweeten) Johnathan loved it so much he almost half of my batch in one sitting. I had to take it away from him if he was going to have any for another day- which didn't go over well with him. Here's the recipe:
8 large strawberries
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup pureed dry brown rice
6 oz plain yogurt
2 teaspoons light agave nectar
I pureed all these things together in my magic bullet then separated into freezable jars or other freezable containers. I used my homemade baby food jars we bought at Babies R Us. The color isn't very pretty but looks can be deceiving. The taste was a little tart to me but my little guy loved it!
